Instructions for manuscript online submission (manuscriptXpress Conference
You need to log in before submitting/resubmitting your manuscript. To logging in you need an ID and password. If you already have an ID and a password for this system, use them to log on. If not, register by clicking on the respective link.
A. Submitting a manuscript:
Click on "Create manuscript" on the left side of the screen and follow the instructions. Please use only Latin characters for the file name, and only lower-case letters for the format extension. Please use clear, self-explaining file names. Example: smith_version2.doc. Once you have uploaded a file, you can no longer modify it. Please click on the "submit" button to complete your submission. In case you do not want to submit your uploaded paper, please contact the Guest Editor Mathias Schubert (Schubert@engr.unl.edu) who will be able to delete the incorrect manuscript.
B. Checking the status of your manuscript(s):
The link "View Details" will lead to a page with all current information on your manuscript, including reports, if there are any.
C. Resubmitting a revised manuscript:
Once you have been asked to revise your manuscript, a link "Upload file" will appear on the right side of the manuscript overview list, leading you directly to the upload page. Upload the new file(s) and click on "Submit" again. Please DON'T create a new manuscript when submitting a revised version, but upload the new file(s) to the already existing manuscript. Please indicate in the "cover letter" text field whether your manuscript is a new submission or a revised version.
Editorial policy and refereeing
For publication as conference contribution in pss (c), one positive referee report per paper is sufficient. We intend to select papers for publication as Original Paper in pss (a) or (b), which requires double peer-review by two referees. Only contributions that meet the scientific and formal standards of the journal will be accepted for publication. Once your paper is received in the online submission system (manuscriptXpress Conference Tool), your paper will be assigned with reviewer(s). You may as well be selected for reviewing other manuscripts. You will be notified as soon as the review(s) have been received by the Guest Editor(s), and about further action(s) according to the reviewer(s) suggestions.
Proceedings publication and revision deadlines
It is intended to publish the proceedings (all accepted papers in one hard cover book regardless of their pss a, pss b or pss c assignment) in the March 2008 issue(s) of physica status solidi. The conference organizers agreed to submit the bulk of manuscripts (electronic version) to the Editorial Office of physica status solidi by 15 October 2007. Thus, all review/revision processes must be finished by that time.
